On March 19, 2011, the kickoff meeting for the "3500 ton precision horizontal real-time control die-casting machine and complete equipment" project of the national science and technology major project "High end CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment" was successfully held at Suzhou Sanji Casting Equipment Co., Ltd., jointly implemented by FAW Casting Co., Ltd. as the undertaking unit, Suzhou Sanji Casting Equipment Co., Ltd., Tsinghua University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center of the General Institute of Mechanical Science and Technology.
The main leaders participating in this event include leaders from the Special Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, academicians of the National Academy of Engineering, leaders from the Suzhou Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, leaders from the Wuzhong District Commission of Economy and Information Technology, industry experts, leaders and representatives from FAW, representatives from Tsinghua University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, representatives from the General Institute of Mechanical Science, leaders and representatives from Suzhou Sanji Casting Equipment Co., Ltd., reporters from the Suzhou TV Life Information Channel, and other guests, totaling 48 people. The event organized a project launch ceremony, a visit to the production site of Suzhou Sanji, the main implementing unit of the project, and an expert review meeting for the project's technical proposal. Under the joint and careful organization of FAW Foundry, Suzhou Sanji and other units, the project has achieved complete success. National Science and Technology Major Projects are major strategic products, key common technologies, and major projects completed within a certain time frame through breakthroughs in core technologies and resource integration to achieve national goals. The 3500 ton precision die-casting machine project is a project directed by the National "04 Major Special Project Office" and undertaken by the Mold Factory of FAW Casting Company. Its main goal is to meet the production needs of super large aluminum alloy castings such as six cylinder engine cylinder blocks for cars, C-class car gearbox housings, and heavy-duty truck clutch housings, represented by FAW, and promote the development and improvement of independent automotive lightweight technology.
The total investment of this project is 128 million yuan, of which 34.08 million yuan is allocated by the state as special funds. Suzhou Sanji Casting Equipment Co., Ltd. is the main implementing unit of this project, responsible for the research and development and manufacturing of 3500 tons of die-casting machines and peripheral equipment. The total investment is 63 million yuan, which can obtain 18.06 million yuan of national special funds. The project implementation period is from January 1, 2011 to December 30, 2012. The key technologies of the project research include: (1) 3500 ton precision horizontal real-time control die-casting machine and complete equipment technology; (2) Research and manufacturing technology for oversized molds; (3) Finite element analysis and structural optimization design of the overall characteristics of die-casting machines, closed-loop control technology for injection systems, and hydraulic system simulation technology; (4) Selection, preparation technology, and surface heat treatment technology of key materials for large-scale die-casting; (5) Green melting and purification technology for die-casting.
