The "High end CNC Machine Tool and Basic Manufacturing Equipment" Science and Technology Major Project "3500 ton Precision Horizontal Real time Control Die Casting Machine and Complete Equipment", led by FAW Casting Co., Ltd. and jointly undertaken by Suzhou Sanji Casting Equipment Co., Ltd., Tsinghua University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and the General Institute of Mechanical Science, has completed the main engine manufacturing after nearly a year of intensive implementation by various responsible units, marking that the project has achieved phased results. In order to celebrate the phased success achieved and to inspect the mid-term work situation, on November 19, 2011, the "National Science and Technology Major Special Project -3500 ton Precision Horizontal Real time Control Die Casting Machine Cold Start Ceremony and Project Mid term Inspection Report Meeting" was held at Suzhou Sanji Casting Equipment Co., Ltd., the research and development base of the main engine.
    This meeting has received high attention and strong support from leaders at all levels. The main leaders and experts attending the meeting include: Academician Lu Bingheng, Chief Engineer of the National Science and Technology Major Special Project Overall Group, Han Lei, Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineers, Zhang Haizhu, Deputy Director of the "04" Major Special Project Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Chen Changnian, Advisor of the General Institute of Mechanical Science and Technology, Wan Sihong, Deputy Director of the Suzhou Economic and Information Technology Commission, Han Jianyou, Professor at Beijing University of Science and Technology, Xu Zhaoyi from the Wuzhong District Economic and Information Technology Bureau, as well as major leaders and experts from project team member units.
    In addition, General Manager Sun Feng of FAW Foundry Co., Ltd. and leaders of the Planning Department of FAW Group also participated in this event.
    At the cold start ceremony, leaders at all levels made speeches, fully recognizing the efforts and achievements of the project team, and encouraging project team members to continue to work hard, overcome difficulties, constantly strive for excellence, and ultimately successfully complete various tasks of the national special project.
