Suzhou Sanji has been commissioned by a certain enterprise to provide a turnkey solution for extrusion casting for a certain product. The project requires the use of 7-series deformed aluminum alloy material, with technical indicators reaching: tensile strength of 420MPa, yield strength of 280MPa, elongation of 10%, and hardness of 105HB. The technical requirements to be achieved in this project are considered a great challenge and difficulty in both domestic and international industries. Although 7-series deformed aluminum alloy has excellent strength and plasticity, its casting performance is poor, and it is prone to casting defects such as cracks, cold shuts, shrinkage cavities, and segregation. In order to solve this technical problem, the company has conducted comprehensive research on extrusion casting equipment, casting processes, heat treatment processes, molds, and other technologies suitable for the production of such special materials. Special designs have been made in equipment, molds, and processes, and the equipment adopts the most advanced real-time control system technology. After several rounds of process testing and small-scale production, the technical indicators of the product samples have fully met the standards, as shown in the following test results.
The successful implementation of this project marks a significant breakthrough in the technology of extruded casting of deformed aluminum alloys in China, laying a good foundation for the promotion and application of this technology in the future. This technology has a very large market space in industries such as automobiles.
At present, Suzhou Sanji has handed over a 350 ton horizontal squeeze casting machine and a complete set of process technology to customers.
